Introduction:
- Status Bar
The Status bar appears at the very bottom of the screen and provides such information as the current page, current section, total number of pages, inches from the top of the pages, current line number, and current columns number.
- Scroll Bar
The document window has scroll bars. At the right edge of the document window is a vertical scroll bar, and at the bottom of the document window is the horizontal scroll bar.
- The Ruler
The ruler is generally found below the main toolbars. The ruler is used to change the format of your document quickly.
- View Buttons
Changes the layout view of the document to normal view, web layout view, print layout view, or outline view.
- Change in view
To view your work in progress and remain organized, Word XP offers Normal view, Print Layout view, Web Layout view, Outline view, Print Layout view, Web layout view, Outline view, and Full Screen View.
- Normal
This is best used for typing, editing, formatting and proofreading. It provides a maximum amount of without rulers or page numbers cluttering your view.
- Web Layout
This view shows you what your text will look like on a web page.
- Print Layout
This view shows you what your document will look like when it is printed.
- Outline
This view is used to create and edit outlines. This view is used to show headings in a document.
- Full Screen
View displays ONLY the document that you are working on.
